Matthew Dakin

Marketing, Xerox Corporation

"Working at Xerox Corporation has given me an heightened perspective about not only my career choice of Marketing, but also who I am as a person in the work place. While at Xerox, I was able to continually push the envelope and suggest creative/innovative ideas to tackle difficult problems. This experience has trained me to stay adaptable in an ever-changing market. I can’t wait to join the workforce after graduating!"

Nic Grunert

Management and Social Entrepreneurship, Story International

"My international internship in Huehuetenango Guatemala was as challenging as it was rewarding. I provided business oversight and management of a newly established coffee shop and roastery to provide employment for teenage mothers and orphans growing out of their programs. While learning entrepreneurship, international business, management, and other new startup know how, I had to empower my staff for 3 months on good customer service and how the workplace environment functions. My objective was to get in, get the businesses started, running, and able to sustain itself when I flew back to the states. Best experience of my life!"

Lakiah Huff

Business, KL Webb Insurance

"My supervisor genuinely cared about my growth as a young professional. He took time and critiqued me when it needed to be done, but also told me when I was doing something well."

Brittany Ward

Nursing, Labor and Delivery Unit | Strong Memorial Hospital

"It was an amazing experience. It allowed me to get hands on practice with my nursing skills and interact with patients and babies. I was able to learn the flow of the floor and become more comfortable. I would recommend that all nursing students take an internship if the opportunity comes about."

Alexandria Monti

Social Work, Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS)

"PROS was more than just an internship. It helped me to gain confidence and pushed me to challenge myself. I learned how to do both group and individual therapy, which is what I do in the field today. One of the most important parts of my internship was my supervisor. My supervisor was more than just a supervisor. She took the time to get to know me and helped challenge me to reach my full potiental. She has become a life long friend and mentor. I still today rave about my amazing experience at PROS. It is an experience I will always cherish and one that I am ever grateful for. Today I am an Addiction Therapist for Rochester Regional Health at Evelyn Brandon Chemical Dependency. With the information I learned from PROS, transitioning into this role was nothing I couldn't handle. I am thankful for my experience at PROS in helping to form the social worker I am today."

Amy Folwell

Social Work, Pre-Trial Services

"I work mainly with Human Trafficking Victims. As ignorant as it sounds this placement has taught me that the things on TV really do exist. Another thing that I have learned along the way is that some clients need to take baby steps. Over tasking a client sets them up for failure, so even though our program is typically 5 months some may take longer. I absolutely love coming into work everyday and seeing the smiles on their faces, even though they are in a tough spot."
