Biography

Change and life can be quite challenging at times. My approach to therapy is to join with you, to understand your experiences that are bringing you in, and to walk with you through the process of change and healing. I believe all of our thoughts, feelings, actions, and decisions in life make sense (even when we don’t like them!) if we're able to put them into context. My hope is to help you understand yourself more and build self-compassion while helping you take the next steps toward the goals and changes you strive for.

I have over 12 years of experience in higher education mental health, community health working with co-occurring substance use issues, trauma, and other mental health challenges, and private practice.  My practice of therapy is informed by several evidence-based approaches, including person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), compassion-focused, and mindfulness. Areas of clinical interest include trauma and complex trauma survivors, anxiety disorders, depression, and personal development. I also enjoy supervising and mentoring those who are newer to the field!

Personal Interests:

I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, decorating, organizing, creating, coffee, reading, and being active.
