Jonathan Dozois joined the Roberts Wesleyan College music faculty in 2019. Mr. Dozois currently serves as 2nd horn with Symphoria (Syracuse, NY), as well as 2nd horn and personnel manager for the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra (Ithaca, NY). Previously the Principal Horn of Symphony S.O.N.G. in Seoul and 3rd horn of the Wichita Symphony, he has performed several seasons with the Rochester Philharmonic as Acting Associate/Assistant principal horn, and appeared with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Tulsa Symphony, South Florida Symphony, and Wichita Grand Opera. As a chamber musician, he has appeared with the Wichita Brass Quintet and on the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra's chamber series, as well as spending summers performing at the Sarasota Music Festival and Bowdoin International Music Festival.
Mr. Dozois holds a Master of Music from Wichita State University and a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and his principal teachers include Dr. Nicholas Smith, W. Peter Kurau, and Amy Larkey-Emelianoff. He also holds a faculty position at Houghton College, and served briefly as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Eastman School working with incoming freshman hornists, and as an applied lesson teacher with Monroe Community College.
