String Chamber Ensembles
The String Quartet is designed to give students an introduction to the principles and repertoire of chamber music. Open to music and non-music majors alike, the course concentrates on performance issues such as strokes, sound, and intonation. Skills are developed through performances and weekly rehearsals. The string quartet rehearses weekly and performs at the Christmas Gala concert, the spring and fall PRISM concerts for chamber ensembles, departmental recitals, and for other special events.
The Cello Ensemble gives students experience and guidance in the performance of cello ensemble repertoire. The course concentrates on performance issues such as strokes, sound, and intonation.
